Picture Purrfect

Picture Purrfect from Kaukab Basheer on Vimeo.

Peeku, Stefan the Artist's cat, unknowingly paints and sells his first painting.. My 2nd student film at SVA took about 3 months to animate.. Glad I finished it on time.. Traditionally animated.. Colored digitally, painstakingly, with the Photoshop brush tool to get the desired look.. My awesome animator & musician friend, Greg Yagolnitzer gave the terrific music and was great to work with!

And to think that you did it all by yourself..just wow!... how many frames did you draw? Awesome stylization, color tones, and frame compositions! I'm following your blog right away!

  4. Thanks so much, everyone.. Junaid, I couldn't have done it without u.. and the kitties :)

Kish, I'd have to sit down to calculate how many drawings.. There were many.. But the film is 2,954 frames in duration.. Lemme tell you, I'm not an avid blogger.. So you might have to wait a while to find something 'new' here..!!
